The Story Behind the Film
In 2012, Aurélie Tournier received an invitation to a women’s freeride mountain biking event, Shine Sendher Rampage, organized by Lindsay Beth Currier. This was the first major women’s freeride event at the iconic old Rampage site in Virgin, Utah. Aurélie brought her camera crew (Rémy Andrés and Charles Canu) to document the event, which featured only three women that year.
The following years saw more women joining, and Katie Holden became a significant influence in the growth of women’s freeride.
In 2019, Katie co-founded Red Bull Formation, a freeride session for women to build and ride big lines. In 2023, Chelsea Kimball organized Desert Day to continue the progression of women’s freeride.
Aurélie attended Desert Day & witnessed the expansion of the women’s freeride scene, with improved jumps and better-designed lines, boosting the confidence and safety for the riders.
In 2024, Chelsea KIMBALL took part at Redbull Rampage. The event highlighted the evolution of women’s freeride and honored the contributions of many women who helped push the sport forward.
The competition results saw Robin Goomes taking first place with two impressive backflips. The trip also included a freeride session at Green River, Utah, a spot with a unique lunar landscape.
After all of these adventure, Aurélie and her crew returned to France, cherishing the incredible memories as they look forward to similar events in the future!
